The debt-to-GDP ratio (government debt as a percentage of GDP). Only the countries of the European Union, the UK and the USA are included in this comparison (29 countries). Since 1995 public debt in the UK rose from 44.5% to 105.6% of GDP. Most countries have reduced their debts over the past year (UK didn’t). (Ranking: less debt = better position).
